Design and display
The S26 FE measures 161.6 × 76.9 × 7.4 mm and weighs 193g. Samsung pairs the slim chassis with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display running at up to 120Hz. Samsung also lists IP68 water and dust resistance, while regional Samsung materials describe an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
This is one of the phone’s clearest strengths. TechRadar’s two-week test characterized the display as flagship-worthy, while the overall construction keeps the FE visually close to Samsung’s more expensive Galaxy S models.
Performance and Galaxy AI
The Galaxy S26 FE uses Samsung’s 3nm Exynos 2500 processor. Samsung positions the chip around improved CPU, GPU and NPU performance for multitasking, gaming and AI features. One UI 9 brings Galaxy AI tools into the experience, and Samsung includes a six-month Google AI Pro trial in eligible markets.
Independent testing is encouraging: TechRadar reported surprisingly strong gaming performance during its review. The more important long-term advantage may be software support. Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch, giving the S26 FE a notably long support horizon.
Cameras
The rear system combines a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. A 12MP camera handles selfies. Samsung also advertises its ProVisual processing and AI-assisted editing features.
The camera package is versatile on paper, particularly because a real telephoto lens is increasingly uncommon below flagship pricing. However, this is not a major hardware reinvention. Tom’s Guide’s early hands-on impressions were mixed on image quality, while its testing was not yet extensive enough to treat that early result as definitive. Buyers prioritizing photography should therefore compare full-resolution samples from multiple independent reviews rather than relying on the specification sheet alone.
Battery and charging
Samsung fits a 4,900mAh battery and rates the phone for up to 29 hours of video playback. Wired charging reaches 45W, with Samsung claiming up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes when using a compatible 45W adapter. Wireless charging is rated at 15W.
TechRadar found battery life strong in real-world testing. The 45W wired charging is also a useful improvement for a phone intended for heavy daily use, although several competing Android phones still push charging speeds considerably further.
Price and value
Samsung lists the unlocked Galaxy S26 FE from $699.99 in the United States for 128GB, with 256GB at $799.99. The phone went on sale in early September 2026. Pricing varies significantly by market.
Value is the central issue. The U.S. Galaxy S26 starts at $899.99, leaving a $200 list-price gap, but promotions can change that calculation quickly. TechRadar’s review specifically highlighted the S26 FE’s price increase over its predecessor as a weakness. The right buying decision therefore depends heavily on live pricing rather than MSRP alone.

The $699.99 starting price is the complication: once promotions enter the picture, the regular Galaxy S26 can become close enough to undermine the FE’s value proposition.
